If you want a story that includes laughter, maybe some tears and love, this book is a must read! Ms. Brogan always introduces us to characters that are so believable and so much like ourselves or someone we know. I highly suggest to grab this book and head out into the sunshine, put your toes in the water of Trillium Bay. Just a warning... if you snort laugh do not read in public.
I dearly love this author, she has a way of writing a story that is an absolute pleasure to read. I always anxiously await her books and am disappointed when they are finished so I usually reread and order the audible versions. She also needs to write faster.

A wonderful summer read. Good romance with fun and interest characters and a look at what small town life on an island in northern Michigan might be life.

Emily Callaghan and her daughter Phoebe return to Emily'a home town of Trillium Bay in northern Michigan. Trillium Bay is on an island {think Mackinac Island, MI} with no cars just horse drawn wagons for transportation. She is returning deep in debt and planning to help remodel her grandmother's rental cabin to help repay the loan her grandmother gave her and to try to mend fences with her Dad. They have not been close since she ran away and married her now ex-husband.

When small town life and the sense of family begins to remind her of what she has been missing, Phoebe asks her if they can come to Trillium Bay more often or maybe move there. Emily is finding a new lease on life and a new man to maybe share it with.

Emily has two sisters and I am hoping that there will be at least two more books that tell their stories.
Yes there is humor in this book but that doesn't make up for the lack of connection between the main characters. What about the younger sister? She was big part of main subject of the book The readers were left hanging regarding what happened with her relationship with Tag. Not the best of her books.
If you are looking for a good love story with lots of laughs, feuding families, and some wacky characters, you need to read My Kind of You.

After a long absence, Emily Chambers returns home to Trillium Bay broke, divorced, and looking to repair her relationship with her father. Her grandmother loans her money to help her through a rough time, in exchange for Emily renovating her rental property.

Ryan Taggert, a successful California land developer, has his own set of problems. His business-partners brothers send him to Trillium Bay to find out about their father's much younger girlfriend who they think is a gold digger.

Ryan and Emily have an instant, mutual attraction but deny their feelings due to a possible conflict of business interests, and complications of a long-distance relationship.

Throw in Emily's precocious 12-year old daughter, her thrice-widowed grandma who loves dry martinis, and a cast of characters you won't soon forget, you have a book you won't be able to put down.

I have loved all of Tracy Brogan's books so I had marked my calendar to download this one when it came out. I makes me sad to say I struggled through this one, stopping and starting numerous times. It just never grabbed me. The romance between Emily and Ryan didn't really develop that much - I wanted a lot more from them. I think the main character was suppose to be the town and it's quirky people, but again that sort of fell flat for me.
I would have really liked this book without the juvenile foul language.
So unnecessary.
Isn’t the author educated enough to find decent descriptive words?
Doesn’t add anything to to a book except being offensive.
Due to the language, I couldn’t finish this book.
This was my first and last time reading this “author.”
Tracy Brogan has once again written a warm, romantic story, full of humor. My Kind of You is a book that made me laugh, cry, and feel the love between its wonderful inhabitants. The characters in this book are sweet and quirky, feisty and lovely. Each page of this book is filled with tenderness and humor, a heartfelt story that will provide readers with hours of joy and love.
Oh my gosh!!! This is such a great story, and I love this island, and the people were so real, quirky, fun. I just can't put into words how great this one was!!! Buy it (but read it somewhere that allows snorting laughs, because, well- you have been warned ❤️❤️❤️
